It's a Matte Revolution: Pillow Talk Lips | Charlotte Tilbury Swatches & Review

By now I'd be shocked if you haven't heard the words pillow talk in the blogosphere, no I'm not referring to Zayn from 1D but rather the creation from another influencer who inspires fashion and beauty products to be gender-fluid, that is Charlotte Tilbury. The creator of one of my favourite beauty brands on the market (why have just one?). Recently, Tilbury released her Unisex Healthy Glow- a tinted moisturiser marketed to suit both sexes- as she states 'the glow you get from sex, love, and romance knows no gender'. I feel that statement alone deserves praise and it's a great move in the world of luxury branding and make-up. Anyways, I'm rambling. Especially since today's blog post isn't even about the moisturiser, it's about pillow talk... you see the link right?

Out of all the shades released in the Matte Revolution range, Pillow Talk spread like wildflower across the internet as being the perfect stay all day, everyday shade for any age- the do it all lipstick. The hype was so real and led me to make a split decison to purchase over any other of the shades. It's popularity began with the lip pencil, which became noticed for it's 'your lips but better' shade of rosy pink/nude that could be used to cover your natural lip shape, cheating your way to fuller lips. I can gladly confirm that this is the best natural 'pinky-nude' colour I've ever tried, as it's just the perfect amount of pink to look natural. I don't tend to really over line my lips Kylie style, but I do love a strong line to define my lips and use as a base under lipstick. This liner is perfect for both though, so if you're looking for a liner for uneven lips or to create the look of bigger lips I highly recommend this one to you! Most importantly it's smooth and just the right amount of creamy so application is a dream.

The lipstick itself is exactly the same shade as the pencil, which I think is really nice because if your lipstick does come off throughout the day, it's not going to be noticable because you have the same colour underneath. It also shares the perfect texture, creamy to apply but then drys matte quickly. What I'm really impressed with is I don't find this drying at all when my lips are in good condition, but if I already have very dry lips then no matte lipstick is a good idea! Matte lipsticks have taken over the beauty game lately for their long-lasting quality so how does this compare to the likes of Kat Von D (everlasting lipsticks are amazing!) or other drugstore versions? I find this to be far better in every way than drugstore options, the gorgeous packaging also makes the price feel more deserving. I haven't tried the Kylie Jenner Matte Lipsticks but Kat Von D's are another great option however, I like the application of Charlotte Tilbury's better because of the shape of the bullet. It has sharp, angular lines on the tip so you can get a clean shape around the lips easier. If you're a longwear make-up girl then this could quickly become your go-to, everday lip combination that's comfortable on the lips. I'm very eager to try out some other nude shades from the matte revolution range after adding this on to my collection!

So, if you already have the lip liner, do you need the lipstick aswell? The answer really depends on whether you want that exact colour in a lipstick because if you are just wanting to use it as a natural looking lip liner, you could apply any nice lipstick over the top of litreally. However, I think you'd really benefit from having this lipstick if you're a lover of a matte lip or have been searching for a colour like this, because this formula is up there with the best of them! I'd love to know if you own this lipstick or lip cheat in any other colours? If so, which ones and what do you recommend from CT? Let me know in the comments below!

Bargain Buys | The eBay Edit No. 2

It's that time again... I've built up quite the watch list on eBay and plan on purchasing some of these beaut things to add to my wardrobe this summer. Ebay is one of my most recommended websites when it comes to things like phone cases but it isn't always the most reliable to buy clothes and shoes from due to sizing issues and a lot of items made/ coming from outside of the UK, but if you're careful and read the sizing guides you can normally ensure your bargain buy is going to fit. Another little note is make sure you read the desciptions properly (sounds obvious but I've been caught out) to understand what material the item is made out of to avoid any dissapointment. You can check out my first eBay Edit for some more budget friendly fashion.

3 Must Have Beauty Essentials For Summer '17

This summer I'm all about ease... I want less products in my morning routine that do more to create a healthy, natural glow, so I waste no time getting out and enjoying these hit and miss English summer days. There has been three new-ish products in my collection that I've found myself reaching for an awful lot since the weather has picked up, that I'm excited to share with you!

First up is Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Treatment Lotion Mist which is basically what it says in the name, a treatment lotion that you spritz onto your face that is meant to infuse the skin with  radiance and energy, due to being packed with coffee beans, panax ginseng-plus and nutrient-rich pomegranate. With even sprays across the face, the oil-free formula sweeps away the dull skin to be replaced with a new hydrated complexion and boyyy does this feel refreshing! I'm in love with using this before I moisturise as a toner. It stops my skin from looking dull which is a really important thing to me, as well as giving a nice refreshing boost throughout the day over my makeup or even if I'm not wearing any. I've noticed the texture of my skin improve a lot recently, plus it looks much more radiant/ healthier therefore, it has definitely secured it's place this summer.

Which skin type is it good for?

✔ Oily
✔ Combination
✔ Dry

Next up, I've been loving the Nude by Nature Sheer Glow BB Cream in Natural Tan to even out my skin tone and match my face to my tanned body. Now, this product does have A LOT of negative reviews on the internet and I can completely understand why! My first experience with this product was an absolute disaster, there's no other way to describe it... it separated on my face and created a big ol' mess, which I was shocked about as I had such high hopes for this BB cream. I'm not very experienced in using creams like bb or cc, but I opted for this one because I was finding foundation a bit OTT for everyday since my skin has been clear. Because of spending £22 on this product I knew I had to give it a few more tries before I could accept I'd wasted that money for absolutely nothing... and I'm glad I did because now it has became one of my favourite products!

It's so important to know that every product performs differently depending on how you use it and what you use it with. I have found that it is very important to know what you're getting as many people complain about this bb cream having very little coverage but thats what the product claims to be and thats what it is. I would only recommend this product to those, like me, who want a very natural, light coverage that offers a pigment to just smooth and even out the skin tone. If you have a lot of hyper-pigmentation, blemishes or other imperfections then this most likely won't be for or you can use a concealer for any areas your require more coverage. I also would not recommend this to oily skin types as the consistency is very dewy, although I have an oily t-zone I just make sure I always apply powder. The key to this bb cream is to make sure your moisturiser is completely dry and sunken into the skin before you apply it as that was why mine was separating on my face. I found the best way to apply it was with my fingers to spread its evenly as I can, then finishing with a beauty blender around my hair line. Using a brush or beauty blender for the process proves challenging to get an even coverage.

This sheer glow BB cream is amazing if you are looking for a base that minimises the appearance of fine lines, smoothes out the skin tone and adds a lovely luminous glow to the skin. It also feels like a natural alternative to all the chemically driven things we put on our skin as this is made from all natural ingredients, enriched with Australian Kakadu plum, aloe vera, quandong and desert lime, which works to fight the visible signs of ageing and moisturise the skin. Beware this only has an SPF of 8 so I would highly recommend using another methods for sun care if you are going to be in the sun.

Finally, we have the Rosie for Autograph Amazing Radiance Body Glow which is a tinted body lotion that provides a lovely sun kissed glow with a slight shimmer of light reflective particles to it. I'm not the biggest fan of shimmer on an everyday basis however, this formula is so subtle it could be used as a daily body moisturiser to enhance you're skins colour and glow. I mostly keep this for events/ nights out where I know I want to look lovely and healthy- with just a hint of dewy! This makes your skin looks great in photographs as you can apply it over your already fake tanned body to get the Red Carpet radiance. If anything is going to help me look more like Rosie Huntington-Whitely then you know I'm going to try it! This has got me so excited to try out more from the Rosie For Autograph range that is exclusively sold at Marks & Spencer... the fact all of Rosie's packaging is absolutely perfect and affordable does help!
