Mask Of Magnaminty | LUSH Cosmetics

Today, I thought I'd share with you one product from LUSH that I constantly find myself re-purchasing is the Self-Preserving Mask of Magnaminty. I've always been a huge LUSH Cosmetics fan as I love natural ingredients/ remedies and love their beliefs but it also helps that their products actually work!! Unlike the majority of beauty bloggers, I'm not really into bath bombs but their skincare is something I can really vouch for. I highly recommend this face mask to pretty much every skin type because the results I've had are brilliant, I've noticed a real difference in the clarity of my skin and afterwards it always feels so calm. It also gives a great exfoliation when washing off, with its natural antiseptic peppermint oil to promote healing of blemishes and scars! This mask has been designed perfectly with honey and vanilla to counteract the tingly peppermint, which is how it creates such smoother skin and reduces redness.
Overall, a very good natural face mask that shows results from, in my experience, the first time you use it!

Ultra Pro Glow Palette First Impressions/ Review | Make Up Revolution

Yesterday I, very luckily, picked up the last Ultra Pro Glow Palette in the local Superdurg store. For only £10, I'm not surprised in the slightest it's flying of the shelves as the highlighting/ strobeing trend seems to be going nowhere fast! The last time I purchased a Make Up Revolution product was the Ultra Contour Palette which I reviewed highly, so I have very high hopes for this palette.

At first look, I am very pleased with the appearance/ packaging. I like the basic look of this palette, it isn't trying to hide anything with fancy packaging and they have filled the space with product rather than thick borders/dividers however, it does not feel cheap! This palette is slightly larger than the Contour Palette which I would not have guessed, as this is purely for highlight shades. Nevertheless, it works and the colours look beautiful.

As you can see from the swatches by TamBeauty (the creators of Make Up Revolution)  this palette has some absolutely stunning highlight shades, even a blush and bronze shades. A colour for any make up look!  My favourite so far is the top, second from the right, a subtle warm gold that gives a lovely glow.
In terms of consistency the powders are buttery and smooth and have blended really well upon application. I used the Real Techniques Setting brush or Contour brush to lightly dust on the high points of my face, with a very gentle hand. For me, the colour pay off is perfect, as I like a more subtle highlight during the day but they are build able for a more intense highlight.

I like this size palette for travelling as it's light enough to go in a make up bag and gives lots of options. I'm all about options!! Luckily, with my skin tone I can make use of all of these shades as when I have fake tan on (which is often) I can use the darker shades and vice versa but keep in mind if you can only use select shades it might my pointless buying such a big palette.

Overall I am very happy with this palette and have a feeling it may make it into my every day make up collection along side it's contour palette. Well done MUR!

My Favourite Rosey Lip Combo | The Perfect Pink

Today I'm writing about a lip combination I have been wearing constantly throughout summer and I'm definitely not stopping now the seasons are changing. I normally stick to cooler toned nudes or darker pinks, so every now and again it's nice to have a only slightly muted pink shade to brighten up a make up look, on those transition days into Autumn. Here are the products I use, along with mini reviews...

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner | Shade 018 Addiction
For the price these lip liners are very good, in terms of longevity I won't lie and say they last all day so you will need to carry this with you to top up after eating and drinking. For a perfect colour match, pair this with Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit, as they are both darker muted pink tones, for that long lasting matte lip.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick | Shade 32 Pink Independant
This lipstick was my first ever luxury/ high end lipstick, which I was given by a good friend for my birthday. It's been well loved ever since, despite being a very bright shade which isn't really 'me'. I absolutely love the way it looks with either the l'oreal lipgloss or the Sleek Matte Me over the top, depending on what finish I want that day. These lipsticks feel so creamy and comfortable on the lip and I am just in love with the packaging!

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream | Shade 436 Birthday Suit
Sleek is one of my favourite drugstore brands because I feel the quality of their products are extremely good for the price, I highly recommend their trio contour palettes! Their Matte lipsticks are also a great alternative if you do not want to spend fortunes on matte lipsticks such as Kat Von D, Kyle Jenner etc. The only downside is I do find these very drying on my lips which is why I tried putting it over the YSL lipstick! Having the Rouge Volute shine underneath definitely makes the formula more wearable as well as the colour.

L'Oreal Cream Lipgloss | Shade 110 I Got The Power
This gloss is a good one to always have in your handbag. It is such a wearable colour- a lovely muted pink shade with a very glossy finish that is very easy/ quick to apply. These glosses have a really nice consistency and don't feel sticky or uncomfortable on the lip.

The Autumn Tag | 2016

'The perfect way to kickstart those autumnal feels!'

I am a massive fan of Autumn, and just seasons in general... I love the way they separate up the year so each new summer or winter time feel exciting every time. So, when I seen this tag on Makeup Savvy I figured it would be the perfect way to kick start those autumnal feels!  I love reading other people tags to see how their answers differ to mine and make me think about things I never have before, so if you do this tag please leave a link in the comments! I'd love to read your very own Autumn Tag.

1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
I have no idea what the official sign for beginning of Autumn/ Fall, but for me it becomes really real when I see those golden crisp leaves hit the ground and the temperature drops. Although, this year that hasn’t even happened yet but for some reason it’s felt like autumn since September 1st (ignoring the random week of beautiful weather we had here in the East Midlands) but I think that’s because since starting blogging I find myself thinking and planning ahead so I guess in a way I’m actively making Autumn begin in my mind.

2. What is your favourite Fall scent?
I don’t know if I can pick one particular scent but in terms on candles I love the Yankee Candles Autumn scents, especially Apple Spice, Autumn in the Park and Cinnamon Stick. When I have these candles burning it creates such a cosy warm feel to the room.

3. What is your favourite Autumn colour?
I am a massive fan of Burgundy in the fall time as wells as burnt orange/ tan shades. These colours scream Autumn to me!

4. What is your favourite Fall drink?
One thing that never changes with seasons for me is drinks... unfortunately for me (but not my bank account) the only hot drink I really like is green tea. I really don’t have a sweet tooth so all these fancy Starbucks drinks make me feel sick!

5. What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to this Fall?
Every year I look forward to the start of Strictly Come Dancing, in fact it begins this weekend so I am very excited! I like how it lasts all of the autumn/ winter season so I can spend my weekend nights cuddled up with a cuppa and snacks and never get bored.

6. What is your favourite Fall fashion trend?
I absolutely love Autumn fashion, its cold enough to wear coats and scarfs but not so cold that you just want to live in a hoody! My favourite trends are being able to wear cute boots with every outfit and being able to wear tartan scarfs/ checkered shirts without looking like a farmer.

7. What is your favourite frugal Autumn activity?
Autumn is usually the time of year I start to attempt baking in my free time… I don’t really know why but I just start craving gingerbread and completely overestimate my skills. But this year I want to actually get better so, although I wouldn’t say baking is completely frugal it isn’t necessarily the more expensive activity.

8. What is your favourite makeup look come autumnal weather?
Come Autumn I tend to ditch the usual bronzey eyes for burgundy or more orange looks with either nude, brown or deep berry lips. For some reason I feel braver with make up in the Autumn time, perhaps its because I’m protected in my many layers of clothing…

So there we have it... All you need to know about my Autumn experiences.
Make sure you check out the original on Make Up Savvy's post here
I hope this helped you get to know me a bit better and like I said, I’d love to read yours!

Thanks for reading - xo
